Nelson Mandela International Day, also known as Mandela Day, is observed every year on July 18 to mark the birth anniversary of the former South African president. This day is an opportunity for everyone to renew their commitment to the values that inspired Mandela.

Mandela Day focus areas and goals 2019 - 2029
1. Education and Literacy goal
- Provision of quality education of children.
- All children in Early Childhood Development (ECD) to have excess to learning resources for development.
2. Food and Nutrition goal
- Reduce hunger in families through the provision of nutritious meals.
- Eliminate Malnutrition and stunting in young children.
3. Shelter goal
- Provide safe Shelter for families to live and thrive in.
- Eliminate homelessness.
- Sanitation that is safe in every school.
- Enable access of safe sanitation to all community to.
5. Active Citizenship goal
- Dedicate more resources to supporting poverty eradication project.
- Encourage public participation and activist voices towards the eradication of poverty and inequality.
